About Bluebird
Bluebird Yoga and Wellness is a woman-owned small business that exists to provide accessible, customizable, and sustainable yoga and wellness services to corporations, individuals, and the community.
Accessible
We strongly believe that yoga is for everyone. In Sanskrit, the word yoga means “yoke” or union—the bringing together of mind, body, and spirit. Many misconceptions exist about yoga—what it looks like and who can do it. Part of our mission is to break down these barriers. If you can breathe, you can do yoga! This is also why giving back to our community in the spirit of seva (selfless service) and sharing these wellness tools with those in need is so important to us. Customizable
We pride ourselves in offering one-of-a-kind yoga and wellness experiences, designed to meet your team’s needs and budget. Whether you are looking to provide your team with weekly virtual yoga classes, quarterly wellness workshops, or are interested in building a unique wellness package from our offerings, we work with you to create the perfect wellness experience.
Sustainable
We are passionate about teaching and sharing the wisdom from each of our wellness modalities so that our clients can apply this knowledge in their daily lives. Not only is it our goal to have this knowledge transfer, but we strive to provide our clients with practices that are sustainable—able to translate into other parts of their lives and gentle enough to be maintained throughout life stages. That is why we use the terms ‘yoga practice’ and ‘meditation practice.’ The client’s time on the yoga mat or meditation cushion is just that: practice for real-world application.
Dear Friends,
Namaste and welcome! I often get asked about the origin of our name and wanted to take a moment to share the significance of our namesake. Bluebird Yoga and Wellness was born from and inspired by a lineage of wellness providers and caretakers. My grandmother was a palliative care nurse, who lovingly cared for nuns at Villa Assumpta as they aged. Her daughter, and my mom, Lynn Glaeser, has been in the wellness industry my entire life. I grew up watching with awe at the care and attention she gave each client, helping them to realize their health and fitness goals and lead happy, vibrant lives. In addition to being an outstanding role model, my mom is also a bird enthusiast—an ornithologist by hobby. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched her, at the same time each evening, place mealworms in the feeder in the backyard, waiting patiently to see the bluebirds who migrate to our backyard each spring grow the courage needed to swoop down and dig in.
This bird-watching trait also happens to run in my family. My grandmother and grandfather were also birders, who also had a special liking for the Eastern Bluebird. So, when my grandmother passed away over a decade ago, each bluebird sighting took on a deeper meaning. And when the lone couple of bluebirds in the backyard over time turned into more than half a dozen, I took this as a sign and Bluebird Yoga and Wellness was born, named in honor of the women who inspire and came before me.
Thank you for being here to start your wellness journey. I am grateful and excited for you to begin and am here to support you in any way I can.
In Gratitude,
Kristin
